Catlin Group Limited
Catlin Group Limited is an international specialist property/casualty insurer and reinsurer which operates through six underwriting hubs: London, Bermuda, the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Canada. The Group underwrote gross premiums of US$3.7 billion in 2009.
Catlin looks at risk with a wider perspective to help realise the ambitions of their clients. They work in parallel with clients and their brokers to develop imaginative and effective solutions to manage the risks they face. Catlin's sponsorship of the Catlin Arctic survey demonstrates the Group's commitment to the better understanding of changes to the Earth's environment. Catlin recognises that climate change and other environmental changes are creating a new set of risks for the insurance industry and its policyholders. Their aim is to help researchers obtain the impartial scientific data required to make more reliable conclusions about the potential impact of these environmental changes. Take a look at this short video to see how Catlin came to be involved with the first Survey, or visit their website here.
